How often does my cooker require a service?
It is recommended (as per manufacturer's guidelines) that an Oil Aga or Rayburn should be serviced every six months and a gas Aga or Rayburn should be serviced annually. 30 AMP models should be checked annually for electrical safety and operation, while 13 AMP models should be serviced every two and a half years.
What does a service include?
Depending on the model and fuel type, we will; check operation of all functional controls and components, test safety devices, confirm correct fuel rates (oil) and gas pressures, clean burners and internal flue-ways, inspect/replace rope seals and gaskets, adjust operation of insulating lids and doors, check oil line, storage tank and gas soundness.
What areas do you cover?
We work throughout Cumbria, South West Scotland and Northumberland in areas such as Carlisle, Dumfries and Hexham. Our pricing works on a distance basis. Please call 01697 451987 or email info@bordercookers.co.uk for a free quote.Do I need to prepare for the service?
When arranging a service maintenance visit, your engineer will require the AGA to be cool, so please ensure that it is turned off the night before. A hot cooker cannot be safely serviced.
